Unspeakable Memories…

When Casey and I first selected this verse for our wedding program, my mother-in-law found the phrase “unspeakable memories” too delicate for such a public occasion.  Neither she or I knew then, that I would become a blogger who shared just about everything.

And here is the verse, by Victorian novelist, George Elliott (a pseudonym of Mary Ann Evans, 1819-1880)

What greater thing is there for two human souls than to feel that they are joined for life – to strengthen each other in all labor, to rest on each other in all sorrow, to minister to each other in all pain, to be one with each other in silent, unspeakable memories.

  1. Love this quote. Don’t most people who have been together a long time have “unspeakable memories”? What a lovely way to express that.
